With every soap we try to achieve a healthy balance between lather and conditioning. Using the traditional cold process method. Except for our “Boer seep” and tallow range, we only use 100% natural plant-based oils and butters that includes, unrefined Cocoa butter, organic Shea butter, Extra Virgin Olive oil, Coconut oil, Palm oil, locally produced high-oleic Canola oil, Sweet Almond oil and unrefined Castor oil. Each oil will effect the lather in a different way.

The ultimate goal is to cleanse the skin, but we also want to avoid over stripping the skin of the natural oils. You’ll find our soaps to lather nicely but doesn’t explode in huge bubbles. It’s rather a creamier foam with smaller bubbles. The same oils that create those explosive bubbles can have negative effects to the skin and/or the soap bar over time. Coconut Oil creates amazing bubbles and it may be exciting and fun to use a soap that uses a high amount of coconut oil. Once or twice. But the real test is how does the skin feel after multiple uses. Castor Oil also creates amazing bubbles but can create softer, stickier soap bar over time.

Our soaps will lather with initial larger bubbles and then stabilize to a foamy and creamy texture. If washing for long periods of time, our soaps are known to have stable lather that will reactivate as more water is introduced. You may find that you like to add a bit more water to your washing process to maintain larger bubbles. Using less water in your washing process may create a drier more lotion-like lather.

Caring for your soap

Our soaps are made with natural ingredients and by design softer than soaps made with harsh chemicals. Store somewhere to dry out between uses, and place it in a well-draining soap dish or rack, keeping away from running water. Allow your soap plenty of fresh air between uses. The drier it gets, the longer it will last. Use a cotton washcloth or loofah to extend its life rather than rubbing the bar all over yourself. Use your fresh new soap within 6 months of purchase. It’s natural soap people…it won’t last forever! Store unused soap in a dark, dry, room temp place like a lingerie drawer or linen closet. Excessive heat, light, and moisture are natural soap’s worst enemies.

All bottled items are made with a fine balance of ingredients that includes preservatives to keep it fresh, and free of bacteria. Any additional water, introduced to the product will destabilize the balance and create a living environment for bacteria.

Keep products dry from any tap water when in use and keep lid closed when not in use. Try to scoop out products like scrubs and masks with dry hands. Keep products facing away from open faucets.
